Abigail Amelia Adams 

Abigail was born nine months after her parents were married. John Adams wasn't around for her teen years. June 12, 1786 she married Colonel William Stephens Smith. William was John's Secretary in London.

Family

In spring 1787, her first son William Steuben was born. She had three more children all born in New York. Their names were: John Adams, Thomas, and Caroline Amelia. Thomas died when he was one. Elizabeth was a stillborn baby. Abigail gave birth to her on John Quincy's 10th birthday.

Family Drama

The Williams joined a fight to free Venezuela  from Spainish rule and were arrested. Her son did not get punished. Her husband was stripped of his government credentials.

Susanna

Susanna born in 1768. She was Abigail's sister. She died at a little over a year.

 

Charles Adams 

Charles spent his childhood at their family farm in Braintree, Massachusetts. In 1779 Charles went with his brother and father to Paris and Amsterdam, he returned after 2 years. He studied at Harvard. He was caught running nude across Harvard's yard. Charles married Sally Smith. Sally was Abigail's sister-in-law.

His Faults

Charles was involved in shady schemes involving money. He lost thousands of dollars that belonged to John Quincy. He also had many drinking issues. Much more declined after that, quit studying law and left his family.

Family

Charles had two daughters with Sally. Their names were: Susanna and Abbe.

Thomas Boylston Adams 

 Thomas is the youngest of the Adams family. Thomas took the family tradition and went to Harvard. In 1793 he went to Europe to serve as secretary to his brother, John Quincy Adams. Thomas did not do well at law. Then, later on he returned to Braintree and set up a practice. Thomas was mostly upset with his practice. He married Ann "Nancy" Harrod.

Family

In time Thomas and Ann had seven children. There names were: Abigail Smith, Elizabeth Coombs, Thomas Boylston Jr., Isaac Hall, John Quincy, and Joesph Harrod. They had another son, Frances Foster who died at less than a year old.

Politics

He was later elected as Massachusetts Legislature.He resigned a year later for unknown reasons. Some people think it was alcoholism, since it took his brothers life. In 1811 he became Cheif Jusitice for the Massachusetts' Southern Circuit.

Moving Home

After his mother died in 1818 he moved home with his father. He became the caretaker for the farm. He took up drinking more and more. He then died March 13, 1832.

John Quincy Adams 

 John Quincy was born in Braintree, Massachusetts. He spent most of his childhood in Europe. He was there while, his father severed as a French minister. When, John Quincy was 15 he served as Secretary to the Mission to Russia. John studied at Harvard when, he returned to America. President Washington appointed him minister to the Netherlands.

Family

His wife was Louisa Catherine Johnson. He had 3 sons: George Washington, John Adams the second, and Charles Francis.

Fun Facts

He was the first president  to have a father as president. He was the first president to to become president without popular vote. Also, he was the first president to get married in the White House.
